This is the largest cattle fair in India and in the world. This fair is celebrated for religious and cultural purposes. As Pushkar is a holy city in India, in the old times' people, came here in the month of Kartik to take a dip in the Pushkar Lake to wash their sins. As in old times, the transport was either camels, horses, bullock carts etc. After their rituals at the holy lake, people has started tarding the horses and bullocks which they used for transportation.
